Having known virtually nothing about E.W., but having started reading him in '78 with Sinai Tapestry, I am crushed to find out abut his passing. I have been hoping for at least one more to the bunch making it a round half-dozen. Anything I say in praise of his books has already been said better than I could write. It's just nice to know that there are other people with an interest in these great books. It's truly a sadness that there will be no more.

Welcome to the Edward Whittemore appreciation society. It is indeed sad that he is no longer with us and that there will be no more books. Ther is however the one he was writing just before he died, which may be offered for publication some time in the future. We live in hope.

The only news that could improve on it is that the book would make it a quintet. As you said, we can only hope,(dream?). : :
