I don't know if this is of any help to anyone, but after having Whittemores books in softcover, I of course longed for the hardback versions. I aqquired all of them, including "Quins'..." by patiently scouring my local librarys' semi-annual book sales where they were clearing out their inventory. It took quite a while, but I now have multiple copies of two of the the Quartet and the one Quin. Some patient work with a mildly wet, warm cloth and fine-grit sandpaper, and they show no signs of being library copies at all. And, the original covers have been protected for years by the clear plastic covers. For what it's worth.
