Hi Shannon! My name is Maggie and I have EDS hypermobility type. I have lived in Lexington, KY since April, and although my doctors are fairly new, they all seem to have a good understanding of EDS and are pretty good to work with. I see Scott Black at Kentucky Sports Medicine for injuries and related joint problems and Lauren Larson at the Pain Treatment Center for pain management - they seem to have the best understanding of EDS out of the team. I was diagnosed by a team of doctors that are affiliated with the OSU med center when I attended Ohio State, but if you are looking for someone who can provide a diagnosis here in Kentucky, my sister was diagnosed by someone in genetics at the UK medical Center. If you are interested in seeing any of these doctors, let me know and I will send you their contact information. The people I have talked to from the support group in Central Kentucky have all been wonderful! Maybe some of them will respond giving you more information than I can. If there is anything else I can do or you just need to vent to someone who understands, let me know.
