I don't have separating ribs, but I do have costochondritis, inflammation of the tissues that connect the ribs. I find a very wide cotton rib belt that I got at a medical supply drugstore is very helpful in keeping the ribs from moving and causing a lot of pain. Not a cure by any means, but a way to lessen some of the pain
