I think the biggest downfall to our training is that he's pretty well flawless in class and then when it's just me working with him, it can be a bumpy ride and once it starts to fall apart, so do I (and then a teensy part of me fears he is/could end up turning into the "pistol" you talked about if I don't get everything just right). I know some of it is that I'm not entirely confident in my own abilities and I'm certain he picks up on that.
I'd be really interested in a board and train with you if that is something that could be worked out. I'm in Tennessee so a weekly class isn't practical, but maybe scheduling a week of vacation and bringing him up and staying nearby so I could learn with him?
