Cheryl - thank you for responding. Dog is in rescue with a foster for last 2 months as original owner (from puppy age) had to move to apartment. The rescue "vet" placed the dog on Xanax due to anxiety. She paces and "hides" with noises, men etc. Her foster suggested there may have been some abuse too - one time as she grabbed her collar to move her from doorway, dog urinated on the floor. May explain her behavior to men. Noticeably uneasy. No professional training ever. Currently lives in a country environment with foster and a couple other dogs & cats. No problem with other animals. Stays "glued" to foster, doesn't stray at all. I have not met with dog but once, when on meds. Foster states that dog would run to closet and hide if ever a problem with intruder etc. Frightened! At 6 years old, can this dog be trained to live a more comfortable life? Thank you -
