IF you look more closely, you will see a marked difference in the head structure, ( the heads got smaller in more modern times, compared to the bodies) the length of back, (some early GSD's seem to actually have a slight dip in their top line) and the outline of the dog resembled more the malinois, or Dutch Shepherd, than the modern GSD.
