UKC Dog Sports Judge
I too found the necessity for a certified letter somewhat irritating, as I as well had my day interrupted by having to go uptown to the post office. Now, in my old life of commercial credit management in Chicago, the certified letter was used as a means to prove receipt of important documents and could be produced as evidence of such in a court of law. Somehow it seems that the sender Ms. Heidi Moen thought her communication carried some extraordinary weight of importance.
Honestly, that would indeed be true if Ms. Moen had stated something intelligent, or even accurate. As she has clearly indicated (in writing) that she cannot read the printed word and therefore makes huge leaps to conclusions about some magical, mystical inference of her “training”. I have re-read the sentence Ms. Moen referred to, which is
“… I wonder how she justifies the elbows on Heidi’s dog (a Lansing Fire fighter)…”
Excuse me Heidi, but WHERE does it say that anyone even knows you “train” your dog, let alone state you train at Cher Car Kennels or Capital City Dog Sport Association?
Therefore, the only accurate portion of your letter refers to your being identified as
“Heidi (a Lansing Fire fighter)”.
As for your “astonishment” that this description is so heinous that it must be removed under the threat of “further action on my part”, perhaps you should rethink your profession if it embarrasses you so. It is undoubtedly one of the most noble and under appreciated professions in the world, and the fact you find being identified as one so irritating is shocking and unexpected.
If however, you are simply infuriated that your name and profession is mentioned on a dog trainer’s board, you need to rethink the magnitude of that thought. There are many more important things in life than some minuscule mention on a board talking about a subject of BREEDING dogs, not owning, not training.
(By the way, I find it equally surprising that you did not confirm or deny that your dog is suffering from a congenital joint affliction.)
So liver long and prosper, Ms. Moen, and save your strength and energy for fighting those fires!
