Hi Deb! Actually, you need to teach him how to get touched by you... he's throwing himself on you just as a child would, and even if it's "bad touch" when you touch him, his goal is met. Put a prong on him, with a tag line. As he is approaching, give a command, like "sit", and then grab the collar and make him do it, without touching his body. When EVER he starts to offer the sit, or whatever command you've given, immediately touch/praise him. Very quickly you will have a dog sitting in front of you.. just as I have a overly large Dutch Shepherd who places his head on my knee, and a Jack Russell who puts his head in my crotch when I'm eating dinner... reward the behavior you find acceptable, and correct the ones you don't. He's old enough to start learning all these rules....
And, we better start doing some body awareness in the bitework, or it will be "Ramsey" all over again!!!![]()
