I've been running here and there since before the Premier.. and Lori and I just got back from a LONG weekend holding a UKC protection sport trial in New Jersey... what a great group of people, and such enthusiasm! Both that trial, and the one we did in California really pumped me up for what this sport can be!
So of course, what happens? Jack Rayl goes and screws up.... He called me while out in New Jersey, and said that the UKC is not going to hold any more Dog Sport trials after 2009... I figured they were just tired of some of his shortcomings, but a phone call to UKC proved him right, and me wrong. They are tired of the complaints about him, the rule issues, and the lack of growth....
so.. gather round folks, and please take some time to write in to the UKC and ask for some more time. I have offered to step in, do the rules revision, and basically take over the parent club role... but I don't know if I can sway them entirely by myself. Please e-mail, call, and write to them at Dog Events letting them know how positive you feel about the program, how you feel it will continue to grow, whatever you like. Please keep it positive, and forward thinking.
