Luc Vansteenbrugge owned/operated Duex Pottois Kennels in Belgium. Ironically the kennel name stands for two points, but many of his dogs have down ears. NVBK stands for Nationaal Verbond der Belgische Kynologen and is the Belgian registry which sanctions NVBK Belgian Ring as the national sport. Olaf was heavily bred on Duex Poittis on both sides. Luc was primarily responsible for the Malinois overtaking the GSD in popularity in Ring Sport in France as he sought out good trainers and gave them good puppies to train. Once they realized the Malinois was and how well suited they were to Ring, they never went back to GSDs. This happened during the decade of the 1980’s, and by the 1990’s mostly all competing dogs were Malinois.
