What you both are referring to is "genetic memory", or ingrained behaviors that have been selected by either nature or man... another form of this is when you give raw meat to four week old pups... they have never been exposed to it as a food source, yet they behave in a ravenous fashion, ignoring the prepared "milk and grain" type of puppy kibble, in order to gourge themselves on the meat. Even in the insect world, it is thought that there is genetic memory passed through each generation.. which is why it's more dangerous to run into a bee hive when one is on a black horse... if your friends are on light colored horses, and you are the only one on a black, the bees will focus almost entirely on the black, a nod to when bees were threatened mostly by black, or dark colored, bears.
