This is an OUTSTANDING video of Schutzhund in 1936 Germany. YOU MUST WATCH THIS!
I was amazed to see a broad jump over a pit (8-10 ft wide?) plus a scaling wall (8-10ft high?). All dogs agitate on gunfire, bite on suits, and great drama is exhibited during the attack on handler… plus the decoy somersaulted during the bite. This is GREAT stuff! Watch for the hard to recognize “send” on a fleeing bicyclist, and enjoy the differences in the GSD from then to today (although the Doberman Pincher still looks the same.)
I especially liked the fact that they had a woman handler (or should I say “allowed” ladies?) and the social ability exercise walking through town at then end… just before training ended by stopping at the beer garden!
Thanks Nick for finding and posting this…. It’s incredible!!!
