I've only been to two DSO's so my experience is limited!

Have you given any thought to letting non-protection dogs compete in the obedience portion of the event? I have a number of people who would love to come and try it out but have never done protection work with their dogs.
It would make one of the days a little longer, but might be a good way to get new people interested in protection sports.
