Hi all! I second and third what Deb and Kathy Walden have said.. it's SOO important to get checked. They found my breast cancer on a routine screening, and due to the fast growing, aggressive nature of it, had it NOT been discovered when it was, the outcome may have been much worse. Since my diagnosis and treatment, I've talked to LOTS of women, all who have various reactions to the idea of Breast Cancer. Unfortunately, a lot of women still believe that it's "better not to know".. well, I'm here to tell you that the cure is NOT worse than the disease, and that if you follow good screening with prompt care, you can come out on the other side feeling better than ever. The support and caring of my Capital City Family, and of course my partner, Lori, made all the difference in how I fared throughout the lengthy process, but without the early detection, I really think that things could have much different....
