Sorry all, but this is not about DMX, but not being a technician at all, in "googling" for information about LEID, not LED, I found your magnifient website.
Not finding an email address to write to your host directy, since he sees this board he will get this message.
MY QUESTION:
I have been offered by a commercial firm a reading lamp that is using supposedly revolutionary technology that is an improvement on LED, called LEID. I could not find any website by websearding for LED......but findng your site gives me hope that you can tell me more about this new technology. Is this for real, or just marketing hype?
Any information you can give me will be appreciated. Can you site any sources I may further study this new technology?
I quote the information on that site as follows:
QUOTE:
Light Emitting Illumination Diode Technology, never burns out and use 90% less electricity than a standard 60-watt bulb! Recent research has discovered a way to create LEDs that blend into a bright white light and that can last over 50,000 hours. That means that your days of changing bulbs are over. Stauer has developed a special grid of 48 LEIDT bulbs that have a super bright luminous intensity that ranges from 3,000 to 4,000mcd (mill candela) while using less than 6 watts of electricity. And less energy usage should help lower our super high-energy prices. The magic in our LEIDT technology is that the LED array does not give off much heat like a standard incandescent bulb so the energy is channeled into light, not into
wasted heat.
The wasteful incandescent light bulb will be phased off the U.S. market in less than 4 years under the new energy law approved by Congress.
And while you are reading under this bright white array, you will be saving oil and gas that is wasted in producing inefficient incandescent
light. Not only will LEIDT lamps help lower energy costs but also theywill help reduce
CO2 emissions (greenhouse gases) and
reduce acid rain. Rarely has such an invention hit the market that can save money, time, improve the environment and even help our national security.
END QUOTE
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can render. Sincerely with best wishes,
