Hi all, I thought I was reasonably au fait with dmx but according to a dealer I'm thick!!!!.
I already run a 3 x 6 ch dimmer pack from a 24 channel desk,- no probs. Bought a starcloth controller from a retailer, it works fine except for its dmx (2 channel) function. I want it to start operating from desk channel 19, dip switch setting 11001000, but it only fuctions from desk channels 1 & 2. Does'nt matter what dip switch combination I use it always reverts to desk channels 1 & 2 (if dip switch 1 is on) or don't respond at all. Dealer says that as it responds to any dmx input the unit must be ok & won't change it & the manufacturer states on their website that they don't "usually" deal with technical enquiries from the unwashed public. I have tried a different desk, different dmx cables etc but no joy. Any advice appreciated.
