I am using a Chauvet Dmx 40 to control 3 Martin SCX500 scanners. The DMX 40 is a 16 channel controller so I assign the SCX500’s 01,17 and 33. Just in case it’s relevant, I also have a dimmer pack in the string addressed 49. Here’s the problem: No mater what fixture I assign the 01 address to, the fixture assigned 01 restarts whenever changing scenes and sometimes just at random. What I mean by restarts is the scanner will switch to code “810” which means it’s reloading it’s software and then go through it’s test sequence. The cords I use are all DMX cables that I keep in a separate gig bag from the mic cables. Now it is possible that a few cables may have gotten mixed up. Set up and teardown with my band mates is like watching a pack of drunken monkeys with a jigsaw puzzle. I try to educate them about the importance of such things but it’s like herding turtles through peanut butter. With that in mind I have done extensive cable swapping and changing to eliminate the cables as the problem. And of coarse, I’m using a termination plug on the last fixture. Is it possible that the reaction time of the controller isn’t up to speed? Any help is much appreciated J
