It would probably be cheaper to get the NSI converter as it is the least expensive one on the market that I have come across.
A DMX to Microplex converter is a bit too complex to be done in hardware.
It is best done with some form of microcontroler.
You will need a serial digital input to an analog output via a digital to analog converter.
The NSI protocol requires a -ve 12 volt sync pulse and a 0 to +10 volt range for the analog levels.
The timings are quite slow so it's not that much of a effort to write the code.
