When you set 001 then the fixture number is 1 and addresses occupied are 001 & 002. If you set 002 then it indicates fixture no 2 and the fixture will respond only to dmx channels 003 & 004 (assuming it's a two channel fixture) Therefore for a 2 channel fixture the last settable fixture number is 256 having addresses 511 & 512 For a three channel fixture the last settable fixture number is 170 with addresses 508,509,510 Obviously we have a 2 dmx channel wastage in the 3 channel case.....511 & 512, which are not useable unless you rig a 2 channel device at 511 start address. So it is device number for you and NOT device start address rgds Ujjal
