George had left for his bowling league when about 8:30 pm, it rang. I was able to answer it and it was a friend calling for the person who lost it. I got her name and address but said I would bring it to the clubhouse this morning. She sounded distressed and I realized it might be her only means of calling for help. I said I didn't have a car and it was a little too far for me to walk in the dark but if she could wait, we'd bring it over later that nite. I had second thoughts as it got later than expected and thoughts about an obviously older lady distressed without a means to call for help if needed. Putting on my big girl pants, I grabbed a spotlight flashlight, my phone and started walking. Mind you, I can't walk too far to begin with and I absolutely hate going out in the dark even walking the dog beyond my complex, so this was no small deal.
I found her place and she was so grateful at getting her phone back in her hands, the walk home seemed a lot shorter and not so scary.
