Many years ago, Bob had property in Dana Point down by the beach, and he had bought two mobile homes meant to be put down in Mexico on the property. (He was having trouble getting them into Mexico as the law had just changed re: anything movable.) They were not new, and not terrific accommodations at that point, there were no utilities on the property yet, so we could only use them for sleeping. We cooked over an open fire. I remember getting up with the sun, and going to sleep early, just as you said. The kids were little then, they loved it there, a short walk down the river bed to the ocean, a field of tomatoes and peppers next door that the farmer let them pick, a convenience store on the main road where they bought treats with the money we "paid" them for the peppers and tomatoes! I wrote about it in my life history, those were the good old days, I would love to post it here, but I lost access to my Word program when the winds shorted everything out.
