I thought I was talking to airline's customer support but as I later discovered it was a travel agent. I had picked a flight where prices were lower than they were the prior week and that had seats available conducive to having the dog. She double talked me that the screen I was looking at was not updated, they were sold out at the price and I had to go the next level. When I got the confirmation, I realized my mistake and the official airline price was still showing as available. Five calls later including the long wait and being told I was confused, I finally asked the right question. Was the screen she was using the official airline one or an internal office one. BINGO...I was credited with over $100 I had been overcharged. I was saddened by the fact that I'll spend my birthday and holiday by myself in an anniversary week marred by losses even in the best of times..but victorious in my quest.
I looked out the window at my yard this morning. A 20 ft limb had fallen, it's girth not heavy enough to cause serious damage but too heavy for me to handle. It was being held off the ground precariously by the clothesline and presented a danger to the pup. High winds are expected this afternoon. Thank heavens for good friends. One came over took it down and sawed it into pieces I can deal with.
