Within a short time, he complained that the metal inside of it was causing him pain. He is not a complainer, he's a former mountain climber, Oregon logger, and tree trimmer working 60-100 feet above ground, depending on the type of tree (palms will go that and more). It's got to be a real problem before he'll complain. He bought a nice mattress, 12" thick with a top layer of foam, and an adjustable base. Pain and bedsore went away.
I hope Hospice will provide you something more comfortable than what MediCAL provides its patients. I have a friend from the Parkinsons group whose husband, put in a facility, died not from Parkinsons, but from infection from bedsores.
