Re: Unsettling Experience
Sorry to learn of your lady's dementia. It's very sad to experience a loved one's leaving. I lost a good friend a week ago who had it. He had been a strong man who loved to go out socially and his circle included some well known celebrities and he and his wife lived what I'd call an exciting lifestyle after retirement. About five or six years ago, his dementia reached a point where he needed more care than his wife could give him and he entered a nursing home. Already 80+ years old, I never thought he'd last as long as he did but he was otherwise in very good health. His wife trudged to the place every day at first while he still recognized her and still went three times a week when he didn't, but the toll was obvious on her. He passed in his sleep and all I could think was that it was a blessing..the man I once knew had left a long time ago.
