...my husband passed away with his daughter at his side. The end came very quickly she said, so there was no time to wake us or call her aunts in The Villages. She came in and woke me up when she was sure he was gone. We went through a pile of tissues. Jane was very upset and my son didn't take it too well either. Soon the Sheriff and some other men arrived. Then his sisters arrived. We had to leave the bedroom so congregated in the living room. I had to watch them carry him out wrapped in the American Flag. We will follow his wishes and have him cremated. His urn will be in one of those buildings at National Cemetery in Bushnell FL. Some day I will join him there.
This has to be one of the most depressing days of my life. Since his daughter was going home to TN on Monday we went through all his things so she could pick out what she wanted for herself and her sister. Another pile of tissues....
We were married for over 30 years.
