I don't care about lawns any more. It used to be a passion with my first husband in the '60s, to have the most perfect dichondra lawn. I don't think dichondra has been planted anymore because the weed killer used was toxic. Maybe it was Roundup. We have blade grass lawns for years now that have lately been infiltrated by Bermuda, but not enough to turn it brown in winter. It's just not the perfect lawns we used to have. There is one section that doesn't get as much sun as it needs, the trees have grown so that they block a lot of light, and part of it is dying out. For now, we have many pots with colorful flowers in that space. My neighbor put in artificial grass, very costly, and something I would have scoffed at in the past. It looks really good and is always green. I wouldn't mind doing that after seeing his looking so good after so many years.
