That may be the case in other locations, but I really don't think so - this is a small center, with 99% small, local businesses (there's one supermarket in the part that's across the street, and the rest of the businesses are strictly locally owned and operated) - the shops are small boutique-type businesses with a loyal customer base that doesn't seem to have dropped off very much if at all, and the rest are service-oriented businesses - restaurants, a nail salon, an old-fashioned barber shop that's been in the same spot since the 40s. I honestly think that in our case, it was more a matter of scheduling with the company that comes out to do the installation rather than an attempt to drum up early holiday business.
