We're all very sad here - mourning the loss of little Somer Thompson, the little girl who disappeared on her way home from school in Orange Park (5 miles from my office) and whose body was found in a landfill up in Folkston, GA. Like the neighborhood where she lived, mine has a lot of children, many of whom regularly walked to the neighborhood elementary school - but I must say that since her disappearance, there has not been one child walking without an adult, and there have been no children whatsoever out playing or riding bikes - not one.
There's a monster out there - and the scariest part is that this monster doesn't look like a creature out of a horror movie. This one looks just like anyone else, and is walking the street, driving the road, going to the store, and living down the block.
