Fortunately for us the only fruit tree we have in our back yard is a huge grapefruit tree. It gives us 2 BIG crops a year, and for whatever reason, the critters leave the fruit alone, and Da Younger Son does all the picking. The fruit is set for the late fall/winter crop, and it looks large and lovely - although it's still deep green and won't be ready for picking for at least a couple of months or so. We don't make any attempt to grow any other fruits or veggies - it's just not something either of us is into.
