Remember the fake wood I am referring to is not laminate. It's plastic. It would make the basement look bigger if you used the same flooring. To make the rooms look bigger have the floor installed on a diagonal. On this flooring you just put it on the floor with nothing under it. I'm going to use it my play place where I keep all my collections and foo foo things. I am in love with the darkest fake wood.
It will be cold so rugs would look nice and be cozier. Rugs are cheap these days. I don't know know what style you are going for but the retro rugs beautiful.
Have you checked with your wife about what she likes? By the way don't tile your stairs. And it isn't necessary for them to match the kitchen floor. If anything they should be the fake wood.
I don't really care for tiles that much. They just seem so cold. You are home now check out HGTV. They are on all day and night. They have great do it yourself shows. As for your bricks, I would paint them, bricks are out. I think Dave will shoot me for saying that. I had bricks in my kitchen and I removed all of them. Same deal with my fireplace, I had most of them covered with sheet rock or took them out.
Check put canned lights, they are so cheap and good neighbor Dave will install them. I have about 16 in my play hangout.
You should post pictures. Don't worry if the basement is messy, who cares.
But really please check with Melissa. She is the one that uses the kitchen. How do you plan on paying for this? Do not charge it! Do not refi your house. Just do a little bit at a time. Do you even know what Dave charges? see ya.
