According to my Challenger & Barracuda Restoration guide, it doesn't specify exactly but happens to have a photo of a VIN Plate installed on a 71 Hemi Cuda. The Plate is painted flat black (on a black dash) with the Chrysler logo and the words "Chrysler Corporation" printed in white(or possibly it's bare Alum,) below the VIN.
