2023/24 Coverdog Handler of the Year sponsored by Purina- John Stolgitis from Ashaway Rhode Island. John has won this prestigious award many times. Best known for his Chasehill line of dogs that are a staple in the winners circle, John has a strong work ethic and spends his summers in the north country developing and polishing his dogs on wild birds. During the 23/24 season John had wins from New England to Michigan to accumaulate an impressive amount of points and win this award. 2023/24 Coverdog of the Year sponsored by Purina- Ralphy’s Chasehill Rip owned by Brian Ralph. Rip was bred by John Stolgitis and was a repeat of the Panola Bacon x Chasehill Little Izzy breeding that has produced many champions. Both Brian and John had a part in his devlopment with Rip spending time with John in his wild bird program and Brian in his local covers. Rip won the most prestigious grouse championship of them all, the Grand National in the fall of 2023 with John handling. He bested a huge entry of 80 dogs to win the top title on the grouse trial circuit and etch his name on the famous grouse bowl. In the spring of 2024 Brian handled Rip to the title of champion at the Ontario Grouse and Woodcock Championship to seal his lead in the points and earn him Dog of the Year honors. Congratulations to Ralphy’s Chasehill Rip and his owner Brian Ralph on winning the 2023/24 Coverdog of the Year sponsered by Purina.
