    National Amateur Woodcock Championship Winners

Posted by Brian R on 3/27/2023, 8:46 am

Champion Coal Creek Annie with Adam Thomas
Runner Up Double Deuce Zeke with Doug McMillen
Annie had 2 finds on Course 1 on the second day and Zeke had 2 finds on Course 2 on day three. Lots of bird work for the judges to see. Thanks to our Judges Bob Kays and Scott Forman. Thank you Purina and Garmin for their continued support of amateur trialing. Thanks to all the participated and helped. Every single person that came helped out in some capacity. It was great to see so many people helping each other. Wish we had gotten a pic of the 10 or so people picking the tree off the road on the final day.

Kudos to the Black Ash Field Trial Club, they put on a week run, smooth and pleasant trial. Brian Ralph, Russ, Richardson, John McKellop, Jeff Keller, Dave Ralph and Mrs. Ralph, Brandi Ralph, all worked for days, weeks, months to get all the items ready. The trial ran smooth, on time, the courses marked well.
The food was wonderful, The lunches and Purina dinner fantastic.
Congrats to Adam Thomas, traveled from southern Kentucky to run a single charge and charge her did.
RU Doug McMillen kept up his winning ways with Zeke as RUCH.

      GREAT JOB FOLKS.

Congrats to the winners, wish I would have been able to walk the winning braces.

Many thanks to the Black Ash crew for all their hard work altering courses and putting on this quality trial. Also thanks to Brians mother for the excellent lunches and banquet dinner served each day.

Hopefully we see the trial back here again in a few years.
