Hi all... my old Astro 220 system is on its last legs, looking for recommendations on a new collar... any suggestions appreciated...

    Thanks,

Al, I'm considering the Garmin Alpha 200i. It's pricey but works with my existing T5 mini collar.
I like the programmability and the fact that you can see the truck on the dog compass screen.
The emergency satellite functionality (that you can buy on a monthly basis) might also be handy when going solo in remote areas.

Last year grouse hunting in remote area of the UP in Michigan my hunting partner collapsed when we were just 1/2 mile in the thick stuff. For me to drag him out would have made 2 guys in dire need. When I got the alpha 200i it was the first thing I did…installed the emergency sos program.
The handheld is very easy to use and read also.

Al: I still have my original 220 but recently bought the 430 and like it very much. Not much new to learn.
            Stay safe; have fun.

Al - I don't trial anymore since my hearing is shot. I spent $6000 for siemens hearing aids but the provider can't seem to tune them to hear a bell even though I specified that's all I was interested in. I have 220s, 320s but I bought a pro 550 and it's a life saver! I still train dogs all the time and hunt and it really saved the sport for me. Gardner
