Couldn't have said it better myself.

Listening to their stuff from 'back in the day' and they were mediocre at best. Yeah they might've influenced a few of the bands from that era but Anvil failed to move with the times and got left behind.

No amount of movie publicity or favours to get them onto big gigs (Download etc etc) will disguise the fact that they're a very average band.

If the film hadn't come out and they'd still booked this UK tour would people still be raving about going to see them?

I think not.
