Hi Amy,
Being overwhelmed and scared is so normal when we are faced with a cancer diagnosis and all the burdens it entails. Surgery, chemo, radiation, fear of recurrance, fear of the unknown...the list is endless.
The first thing you need to do is breath. So many women have been down this path and have survived. The next thing you will need to do is sit down with your Oncologist and discuss a plan. There are many chemo drugs and your Oncologist will decide on the "cocktail" that is right for you. A cocktail is a couple / few drugs that will be specific for your cancer. My "cocktail" is Taxotere and Cytoxan. There are many other women on this site that are on other "cocktails".
I would suggest that you join a support group in your area. You can usually find insight to where a group is meeting on the American Cancer Society site. That site is really helpful.
Please keep posting here. You will get so much useful information and support on this site. I learned much more from the ladies on this site than from my doctors. These wonderful women embrace you with their wisdom and hearts. You will never feel alone.
Post often and please let us know how you are doing.
Hugs,
Roseanne
