I had six chemo treatments without a port. It was not an issue. Maybe I just have good veins but the nurse never had a problem and there were no issues with the chemo treatments. I did not wait to loose my hair, I had it buzzed right after the first treatment. Now I am done with chemo and waiting for it to start growing back.
