Hi Jeanne,
What a small world. I was born here, lived here all my life (x 48 pushing 49 yrs). Dad was born & raised in RI too; Mom born in NY, her family move to Germany to find work 6 wks. before WW2 broke out in full force there. @ 17 yrs. old, she moved back to NY, then migrated to RI. I laugh when I tell folks (it's true!) that my parents met @ the nuthouse (they were both working as attendants @ the state run mental hospital..as RI girl you probably know it as IMH or "the institutions".
Had my surgery, tx., Dr's based out of RIH. Have heard, though, Miriam is excellent. A friend thru chemo, when disgusted w/the way she was treated on a particular day @ RIH CCC (Comp. Cancer Ctr.), said she'd go to Miriam in a heartbeat. (they @ RIH wanted her to have her chemo in corridor as all cubicles filled. My mom had chemo @ a place in Cranston; there were no private cubbies: I called it "the beauty parlor" as all undergoing chemo were all together in 1 big room.
Sorry to have gone on & on like this; I just got so excited to talk with a "local gal".
Rhode Island ((hugs)), Barb
