Hi Naomi,
Welcome & it's so good to hear from you, although unfortunately under these circumstances.
My surgeries sound a lot like yours, though I was on a different chemo regimen. I was on Carboplatin & Taxotere together every 3 wks. for total of 6 treatments. Had herceptin along w/those tx. & then herceptin for total of 1 yr. Dr. wrote prescript. for "x" amounts of Emend, when I went to fill script found that 4 pills (not even total of what ordered was $300). Fortunately, I was able to get samples while @ chemo sessions. I did try to "cut back" to ration...? if it was flu coinciding w/the chemo, but I was sick as a dog, Naomi. Not just nausea & vomiting, & body/muscles aches, but light-headed. I was walking my dog on the street outside the house & saw all sorts of bright colors & thought I was going to pass out. (of course, I had eaten a raw veggie sandwich a few hourse before). So who knows...but, I would strongly recommend that you try all means possible to take the Emend. (I did receive it too via IV along w/the chemo meds), but I do believe it is designed to work BEFORE you get sick, to prevent the nausea/vomiting/GI side effects. Note that you are writing from Brazil, so ? how your healthcare system works there. Cripes, can't even figure out how my particular health care coverage works here stateside.
Know that I am wishing you a smooth walk along this journey & a quick return to health,cancer-free status, & NED.
Please post often & keep us "abreast" of your progress. We all truly care about you & wish you the very best!
((Hugs)), Barb
