...that ruined your nails. Never heard of Herceptin doing it but of course I could be wrong. I was on Taxotere, a sister to Taxol, for almost a year and it ruined every nail I had. It didn't get better till they had completely replaced themselves, which took forever, since they all but stopped growing for that year. I had my last Taxotere in October 08 (I think) and my nails were just long enough to paint and look decent for my daughter's wedding at the end of April. Usually my nails grow really fast and keeping inch long nails are easy for me. They're back to normal now but I had to keep them so short while on Taxotere.
I hate to tell you this but unfortunately I don't think your nail that is splitting down the center will ever heal. I have a friend that damaged her nailbed years ago and that nail still splits down the middle continuosly. She has to keep it cut down almost to the quick or it catches on everything. If you want to speed the process of strengthening your nails, go to GNC and buy some gelitin capsules or eat lots of Jello, it really does work.
I'm so glad to hear the neuropathy has finally gone away for you. I remember the hard time you had with it.
Hugs,
Penny
