Honey, this can be very traumatic for some of us, (it was for me both times). You go ahead and have yourself a good cry and mourn the loss of your hair. It's ok. Remember feelings are not right or wrong, they just are. Having friends there to support and help you with this situation is your way of doing it and I hope they can make you smile and ease you through it. I needed the privacy of doing it myself and only called my hubby into the room when I couldn't reach a few spots in the back. He was the only person to see me bald the first time around. I got a little braver the second time and went bald in the house around my family.
And yes, it will start growing again about four weeks after your last tx is over. A few months after that, you will have this cute little curly doo to show off to all those friends who help you tonight.
