Have any of you that had peripheral neuropathy from taking Taxol been told to have a nerve conduction test after your chemo was completed?
I've had numbness (and pain if I walk too much) in my left foot since my next-to-the-last Taxol tx on 9/11. I was told that it would probably eventually go away. The numbness is annoying, but I feel that as long as I "watch my step" so I don't fall, it's not that big of a deal.
I had an appt. w/my radiation guy and he said he didn't understand why I'd need nerve conduction tests.
There are no out-of-pocket expenses until January 1st, so it's not like I have to pay anything, so it doesn't bother me to have the tests . . . just wondered what good it would do.
I am annoyed at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, though. For some stupid reason, I can't have the test on my upper extremeties and lower extremities at the same time . . . they have to be two different appts. Seems stupid . . . BC/BS will have to pay for two office visits this way.
