My sister Debbie called me this morning to tell me that she and her church group are going to be making different items for chemo patients.
They are going to make small pillows for post-op patients that they can put between their arm and breast while recuperating. She asked me what different kinds of fabrics they should use. The only thing I knew to tell her was to make sure they the fabric was not rough and that I'd think cotton would be good.
They are also going to make scarves. I'm going to get a couple different kinds of scarves from the Cancer Society on Monday and send them to her, which will make it easier for the ladies to know exactly how to make them.
She also said something about making caps. Don't know if women use caps for sleeping and/or in place of scarves when they go out, but told her the smoother the material the better. I wouldn't think anyone would want something that felt rough on their bald heads.
If you ladies could let me know what fabrics the pillows and caps should be made of, and what people use the caps for, I would really appreciate it (and so would my sister and her group). Thanks.
