I'm glad you made it through the pet scan. I've never had any problems with them (I've had them every 3 months for the last two years) but some girls freak out being closed in and strapped down. It does take a while but I always just close my eyes and imagine myself lying on the beach, listening to the waves and gulls while the sun shines down and warms my body.
Wishing you good results come Wednesday. Please let us know how it turns out and if any of the terminology confuses you just ask. I've become very good at reading scan reports.
I always go pick up my own copy from the hospital before my doctors visit so I can get the news in private and have time to get my questions ready for the doc. This isn't the right way for everyone to do it though. Like I said, the terminology can be scary sounding when it's really not. For your first one it might be best to let the doc explain it to you but do ask for a copy to keep in your files. If you ever need to get a new doc, it's nice to have copies of all your scans and test results.
The girls gave you some good advise below regarding the chemo. All I can add is that it won't ever be as bad as you can imagine it to be so try not to do that. I know it's hard but keep yourself busy and everytime you start to think about it, get up and go do something else, anything else to take your mind off it. Read a book, watch a movie, clean a bathroom, whatever it takes.
Everyone reacts differently so you really can't go by what anyone else experiences. I've watched gals breeze right through and I've seen them have every possible side effect. Just listen to what your body is telling you and call your onc if the meds aren't taking care of what's ailing you. You will get through this and we're all right here to help you.
Hugs,
Penny
