Hey sweepea.
I know you're scared; it's all so different and strange and scary sounding. The first treatment usually isn't heavy with side effects, in general. Our bodies don't know what's in the stuff so minimal response first time you go. Some chemos do have a very fast reaction. Not sure about yours but I'm guessin' you'll be okay first treatment. Second one is when our bodies get the picture and the side effects start. Those're dependent on the drugs they give you. You can google the drugs to see the side effects that are most often reported. I think there's a search button on the main board as well where you can search the names of the drugs and it should give you threads of discussions about them, what people went through, what they learned that helped them, passing that on to others, that kind of thing. Very useful stuff.
Lots of women enjoy physical support groups very much. Your onc or onc nurse should know of a hospital who has one going, or a church or whatever, depending on how large the area you live in. We're good too but some like face-to-face contact. It's reassuring to them.
I say go for it!
