i am so so sorry you and your family are going through this. the witnesses have been so traumatized by this act. i pray you all find your way to deal with this-as difficult as that is.
whatever his reasoning others will not be able to ever truly "understand" it. it just isn't something to be able to understand.
you are in my thoughts and prayers.
