Ok, this is my dilemma. I started my new regimen of Taxol/Herceptin last Monday. After treatment in the middle of the night I was awakend by burning diarrhea. I mean like I had eaten a bottle of hot sauce. This lasted for 2 days. The only thing that helped was soaking in a very cool tub and using baby wipes with aloe when I wiped. Then today within 2 hours of my treatment the same thing started again. I told my Onc. nurse today about last week and she told me it would be OK to take immodium to stop it if it started again but said nothing about what to do about the terrible burning but did say that it wasn't a common thing. I called the Onc. this afternoon after it started and now I have to get a stool specimen for C-DIFF. They called in Annusol for the burning. The Dr. has no clue what's causing the burning because that's not C-Diff. I've worked as a nurse for 13yrs. and anyone who's ever saw or smelled C-Diff knows it when they see it. I think it's one of the new chemo meds. Has anyone ever had this happen? Thanks!
