i received my test results friday and the recurrence score is low. my oncologist tells me that of all treatments chemo will be the least effective on the list. it indicates that hormone therapy is much more significan.
i noticed that the regular tests show a 10 year recurrence score while mine shows a 5 year score. perhaps that is because i am node positive i am not sure.
one of the questions i have about this is how many nodes were taken from the control groups in order to determine whether the node section is 1-3 involvement or 4+ involvement. i had a sentinel node biopsy which showed 2 nodes pos. but, if i were to have more nodes taken i could very well have a higher count than that.
i cannot find this info anywehre on the genomic site and wonder if anyone is familiar with this.
oh and i also have concerns because the testing group for node positive people were all post menopausal which i am not. i guess it has been based on my age-50 years old.
if anyone has any insights into this i would really appreciate your input.
i am tentatively scheduled to start chemo on 7-11 if i make the decision to go ahead with chemo. it is a difficult decision to make and not being clear on these two factors is making it even more difficult to decide.
