I was in the chair last Thursday for my round #2. Had another reaction too, but they just dumped in more decadron/benadryl and that did the trick.
Actually did better this go-around b/c I took the Neulasta shot the next day. So as of this moment I have no fever or rash (fingers crossed). My onc has me taking one OTC Claritin daily for a week to off-set the Neulasta. I take it in the AM. Then she suggested one Benadryl in the PM to help me sleep/prevent rash, etc. I took it days 2-4 and slept way better than last time. Really helped. Just thought I'd pass that on.
One question I have about this round - will my hair get itchy and fall out more? I am really happy to have that itchy hair thing over with as that was a bugger. Am getting used to the wig, though it has been hot so it comes off and a do-rag goes on the minute I walk in the house. Thank goodness for an understanding husband.
Okay Peggy you're a strong one. Just think how nice it will be to be done with chemo for awhile! I will be sending positive thoughts your way on Thursday.
